Dr. Karamitsos earned his undergraduate degree in biochemistry at The City College of New York in New York City. While there, he was a member of the scientific research society, Sigma Xi, and received several recognitions and awards, including the College Research Scholars Award, the American Institute of Chemists Award, a Regent Scholarship, and the Dean’s List membership. Dr. Karamitsos then received his medical degree at New York Medical College in Valhalla.

Harry Karamitsos, MD, is an experienced obstetrician and gynecologist serving patients at Lenox OBGYN, located in Upper East Side of Manhattan, New York.

After medical school, Dr. Karamitsos completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology through the Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center, their primary teaching hospital in Bronx, New York. During his training, he received an award for Special Excellence in Endoscopic Procedures and became a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.

Throughout his medical career, Dr. Karamitsos has authored several research papers and given presentations on his findings in the field of obstetrics and gynecology. He’s worked at several facilities across New York, holding positions that include being the director and chairman of various obstetrics and gynecology departments. In June 2013, Dr. Karamitsos received the Attending of the Year Award while serving as the Attending Physician at Advanced Care Physicians.

Dr. Karamitsos is currently the Director of Ambulatory Care for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Lenox Hill Hospital. In addition to practicing medicine, Dr. Karamitsos is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell Hofstra/Northwell in East Garden City, New York.

Dr. Kyan attended the City College of New York where he received his Bachelor of Science in biochemistry. He then completed his medical degree at New York Medical College in Valhalla. Dr. Kyan completed further postgraduate training at the Staten Island University Hospital in New York.

Kok-min Kyan, MD, is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist with the team at Lenox OBGYN, located in the Upper East Side of Manhattan, New York.

With over 18 years of experience, Dr. Kyan has extensive experience as an OBGYN seeing patients through labor and delivery, caring for diversified medical OBGYN issues, and supervising the work of OBGYN residents. Dr. Kyan also does patient delivery and gynecological surgeries at Lenox Hill Hospital in the Upper East Side of New York City. Dedicated to improving the outcomes of hospitalized women, Dr. Kyan is a member of the Society of OBGYN Hospitalists.

To better serve his patients, Dr. Kyan is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Burmese.

Dr. Huang completed her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine in 6 years through the prestigious Accelerated Physician-Scientist Biomedical Studies Program at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Albany Medical College in 1995.

The dedication to the field of medicine was resoundingly clear during her time at the Bronx High School of Science.  After medical school, she completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology through Albert Einstein College ofMedicine and Montefiore Medical Center.

During her education and training, she received numerous honors and distinctions including being awarded the hospital’s Outstanding Resident of the Year and Academic Excellences in Obstetrics and Gynecology.  

Later, she completed the Galloway Fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She completed her three-year fellowship subspecialty training at theUniversity of Michigan Health System for gynecologic oncology. She has authored several research papers and given several presentations at national meetings.

Dr. Huang has extensive experience in teaching residents and medical students about complex gynecologic problems.  She emphasizes the acquisition of the knowledge and skills that are integral in the comprehensive care of ambulatory and surgical patients.   

She has served in physician leadership as the Chief of OBGYN in a large multidisciplinary practice with diversified offices at Fifth Ave, UpperEast Side, Harlem, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island and Long Island.

As an advocate to the improvement of community health, she has served as a consultant to many disciplines and doctors including the NYC Health Commissioner.

With over 20 years of experience, she has married her clinical expertise to the patient-doctor core relationship. She cares for patients at Lenox Hill Hospital Northwell Health in New York City. Her unparalleled approach to patient care is highly individualized, compassionate, and embodies women’s health.

Dr. Michael Plakogiannis, MD

Dr. Plakogiannis began his medical career by enrolling in a seven-year dual degree program for his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine at the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education through the City University of New York. After completing his bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences in 1995, Dr. Plakogiannis obtained his medical degree in 1997 at the New York University School of Medicine.

Michael Plakogiannis, MD, is an obstetrician and gynecologist with over 20 years of experience. He currently serves patients at Lenox OBGYN located in the Upper East Side of Manhattan, New York.

He finished training with an internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Queens, New York City. After completing his training, he served as an attending obstetrician and gynecologist at multiple facilities throughout New York City.

In addition to practicing medicine, Dr. Plakogiannis has been teaching and supervising residents and medical and PA students at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York since 2001. He is a clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. He was recognized for his teaching with the 2008 Teacher of the Year award at Lenox Hill Hospital. Dr. Plakogiannis is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the Hellenic Medical Society.
